From sifting through Laura's pinterest board, it became clear she knew exactly what she wanted; soft, timeless florals blushed with romance. Eucalyptus gum, paired with David Austin's, garden roses, and hints of my favourite rose EVER (drum roll......) QUICKSAND! The most picture perfect day for a wedding with a view, the reception overlooked the infamous Bondi Beach and was held for Laura + Alex's closest friends and family at The Blue Room. From my first coffee with Laura + Alex at Bondi Junction, I knew these two were set for a life time of love and happiness, which was captured through the lens ever so beautifully by Photographer, Jonathan David.
FAVOURITE DETAILS "It is hard to pick just one moment from a day that will forever be at the top of our highlight reel. I think the best thing for us was having everyone that we love in the same room at the same time and knowing that they were all there to celebrate with us. On a cheesy note, we were leaving the reception and saw the 'welcome to the wedding of' sign and we just looked at each other and were like, 'we did it' and then, from upstairs one of our favourite songs started to play and so we took a moment to have a dance in the foyer all alone and appreciate the amazing day that had just been."
TIPS FOR FUTURE BRIDES "Enjoy the planning process because, as cliche as it is, the day comes and goes so quickly. Don't stress about the small things. Sam reminded me not to forget my Pop's boutonniere and said that one of her brides had accidentally left it in the fridge a few weeks ago, which is exactly what I ended up doing too. At the end of the day, these things do not matter one bit. You will want to relive the day again and again, so make sure you really take time to stop and appreciate things. Lastly, enjoy your photo session - be natural and candid and have fun with your amazing new husband, that's the best part of the day and these make the best photos!"
FLORAL LOVE "They were timeless and elegant and perfectly complimented the relaxed but romantic vibe of our day. We also loved going with a local girl and someone who owns their own company because to us, that means it's their passion and that was truly apparent with Sam. One of the best things about our wedding was that we chose amazing suppliers who were so easy and enjoyable to work with."
"Sam was absolutely phenomenal. She doesn’t just deliver amazing florals, she is a genuinely lovely person and her customer service was amazing from the outset of the planning process. She had so much patience with us and our vision and just ‘got it’. I knew next to nothing about flowers so Sam sent us tonnes of information about them and what would be in season for our wedding.
As any excited bride would know, Pinterest is your best friend! I fell in love with tonnes of bouquets on there and would excitedly send them to Sam to see if she could do something similar and she would go through them with a fine tooth comb and let us know exactly what flowers were used and if they'd be possible for our day.
We were absolutely floored with the end result, it was better than we could have ever imagined and so meticulously put together. We received so many compliments on the day and also then when we got our photos. What other florist can you message on the day of your wedding to ask if she wouldn’t mind coming to your place before the groom’s so that she could hand deliver him the card you forgot to give him earlier!
